Employee Appreciation
Philadelphia Newspapers, LLC honors its employees with employee of The Month and Employee of the Year awards. Each month, three employees are recognized who demonstrate exemplary performance in any of our Building Blocks of Excellence – Journalism, Sales, Customer Focus, Innovation, Leadership, and Operations. Employee of the Month
All full-time and part-time employees from Philadelphia Newspapers are eligible to be nominated by fellow employees and management based on overall outstanding performance. Three employees are recognized each month. Winners receive $200 in cash, an Employee of the Month jacket, a reserved parking space for the month, and an announcement in our newspapers.
Employee of The Year
All Employees of the Month are eligible to become Employee of The Year. All monthly winners attend a luncheon with Brian Tierney and other executives in January to announce the Employee of the Year for the preceding year. The winner will receive $500 in cash.
Home Delivery Service All-Star Award
The purpose of the Home Delivery Service All-Star award is to highlight, recognize, and bring focus to field service efforts in order to achieve the service benchmarks that our subscribers deserve.
Quarterly, the District Sales Managers who achieve the best quarterly 7-day complaints/000 avg. vs. goal in each of the 4 Regions receive recognition in front of peers at the quarterly Home Delivery department-wide meeting, a check for $100 (net) at the quarterly meeting, and recipients' names are mounted on a Service All Star award plaque listing past Regional achievers that is maintained at each Regional office.
Driver Safety Recognition
We offer drivers a pair of slip resistant, ankle protected boots if they go through the calendar year without a preventable accident and do not miss more than 21 days out sick.
